Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical bridge between data science and software engineering to productionize reliable and maintainable ML systems.
  • Design and build scalable data and feature pipelines for forecasting and trading models across distributed systems.
  • Deploy and serve models for batch and real-time workloads using Flexa’s platform.
  • Establish production monitoring and observability for model drift, data quality, latency, and failure modes.
  • Partner with data scientists on model design and validation and advise on scalability, maintainability, and production risk.
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap as data volume and model complexity grow.
  • Guide and develop junior colleagues through design reviews, code reviews, and structured feedback.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and partner-company stakeholders.

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, or a related analytical field.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience, including significant experience building or supporting ML systems in production.
  • Proficiency in Python and software engineering practices including testing, code quality, code review, monitoring, and modular design.
  • Solid knowledge of MLOps practices including pipeline setup, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Sufficient fluency in machine learning and statistical modeling to collaborate with data scientists on architectural tradeoffs.
  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills, with C1-level English required.
  • Ability to solve problems independently and pragmatically and collaborate across functions.
  • Preferred: experience in energy, power markets, or near-real-time operational domains.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Airflow, MLflow, SageMaker, Kafka, Spark, Dask, AWS, or comparable tools and platforms.
  • Preferred: experience owning near-real-time analytics or ML workflows and taking research models into production.
