Responsibilities
- Concept, prototype, and build public-facing marketing pages, landing pages, and application UI for Octopus Fleet and Electroverse.
- Evolve the shared component library into a mature design system by building robust components and establishing conventions.
- Refine micro-interactions, motion, and visual polish across web applications.
- Translate rough Figma sketches, early prototypes, and wireframes into clean, accessible production code.
- Collaborate directly with designers, product managers, and engineers to bridge design intent and shipped software.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in front-end development, design engineering, or creative technology.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, Copilot, or equivalent.
- Strong production experience with React and Next.js and experience contributing clean code to shared repositories.
- Experience or interest in foundational design-system and component-library work.
- A portfolio demonstrating visual craft, motion or animation, interactive web projects, or design-system work.
- Strong UI design fundamentals including composition, spatial layout, visual hierarchy, typography, and easing curves.
- Working knowledge of accessibility practices up to WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Experience with Storybook or equivalent component documentation tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with Playwright, Jest, web observability, monitoring tools, A/B testing setups, or automated accessibility testing with axe-core is preferred.
