Base Salary
$186k - $256k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software applications using Modern C++ and optionally Rust.
- Develop Linux-based embedded software using operating-system concepts including memory management, concurrency, and multithreading.
- Optimize software performance in resource-constrained environments.
- Ensure code quality through comprehensive unit testing with GTest and GMock and adherence to coding standards.
- Work with embedded databases, TCP/IP networking, middleware, NATs, MQTT, HTTP, and gRPC.
- Use Protocol Buffers for data serialization and implement secure communication standards such as mTLS.
- Use Yocto to create custom Linux distributions and become familiar with modern build systems such as Bazel.
- Support vehicle communication protocols including CAN, Ethernet, and UDS.
- Collaborate with cloud and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver embedded software projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience focused on embedded systems.
- Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust.
- Strong background in distributed systems, networking, and real-time communication protocols including NATs, MQTT, HTTP, and gRPC.
- Experience working with Linux-based systems.
- Ability to solve problems and work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with engineering and business teams.
- Automotive industry experience or familiarity with automotive-grade software development is preferred.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and secure software development methodologies is preferred.
- Familiarity with TensorFlow Lite or ONNX for deploying machine learning models in embedded environments is preferred.
