Responsibilities
- Design and develop agentic AI systems including request-intake agents, natural-language query systems, intelligent data exploration tools, and AI-powered search and analysis features.
- Integrate LLMs using prompt engineering, tool use, multi-turn conversation management, output validation, and cost optimization.
- Build semantic models and data schemas for natural-language querying over enterprise data using Snowflake Cortex Analyst and custom RAG systems.
- Connect source data to transformations, semantic layers, and AI applications while ensuring freshness, quality, and lineage are observable.
- Develop full-stack AI applications with Next.js and React frontends, streaming chat interfaces, and FastAPI/Python backends.
- Implement structured logging, conversation tracing, golden evaluations, adversarial verification, and other AI observability and evaluation practices.
- Work with containerized environments, Snowflake SPCS, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Write production-grade Python and TypeScript, maintain type safety, and build testable systems with clear separation of concerns.
- Use Anthropic Claude for code generation, architecture design, and code review, and promote AI engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with data engineering, infrastructure, product, commercial, BI, analytics, business, Anthropic, Snowflake, and cloud-provider stakeholders.
Requirements
- Advanced Python expertise, including async/await, dependency injection, structured logging, testing patterns, type hints, Pydantic v2, and production API services using FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
- TypeScript and JavaScript expertise with React 18+, Next.js App Router, Server Components, asynchronous state management, type-safe API clients, and modern frontend patterns.
- Knowledge of LLMs and prompt engineering, including multi-turn conversations, tool use, function calling, prompt optimization, output parsing and validation, and cost and latency considerations.
- Experience with agentic AI frameworks, ReAct patterns, tool-calling loops, planning, reasoning, constraint satisfaction, or implementing agent loops with the Anthropic SDK.
- Snowflake expertise including SQL, CTEs, stored procedures, query tuning, Snowpark for Python, zero-copy cloning, containerized compute, and preferably Cortex AI capabilities.
- Experience designing semantic data models and layers using facts, dimensions, metrics, and approaches such as Cortex Analyst YAML.
- Experience integrating REST or GraphQL APIs, parsing JSON or Protocol Buffers, transforming data, and building robust connectors.
- Git version-control experience, including branching, pull requests, merge conflict resolution, and atomic commits.
- Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, test automation, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud services.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, normalization and denormalization, analytical data structures, and data quality or pipeline troubleshooting.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, curiosity, and ability to work through ambiguity.
- Desirable experience includes Anthropic Claude and the Anthropic Python SDK, Snowflake Cortex Analyst, semantic search and RAG, vector databases, embeddings, hybrid search, Kubernetes, Terraform or Pulumi, Apache Kafka, Azure Service Bus, AI evaluation frameworks, dbt, Great Expectations, Salesforce, Marketo, and full-stack AI application delivery.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or 3+ years of professional experience building AI systems, data applications, or production ML systems.
- Evidence of delivering transformational business value or completing a substantial AI or data project; Snowflake, cloud, or LLM engineering certifications are optional.
