Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain performance test plans, scenarios, and scripts based on business and technical non-functional requirements.
- Develop and maintain performance test scripts using Apache JMeter or similar performance testing tools.
- Design and execute API performance tests for RESTful services, microservices, and event-driven applications.
- Prepare test data, automation scripts, monitoring scripts, and reporting utilities.
- Analyze application performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend tuning and performance improvements.
- Validate performance for applications deployed on AWS and Kubernetes environments.
- Analyze distributed application performance involving microservices, Apache Kafka, and cloud-native architectures.
- Analyze JVM metrics, garbage collection, thread dumps, heap utilization, and overall application performance.
- Prepare detailed performance test reports with observations, analysis, and tuning recommendations.
- Collaborate with Architects, Developers, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
- Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Harness, or similar tools.
- Support continuous performance engineering initiatives throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in workload modeling, capacity planning, scalability, stress, endurance, and volume testing.
- Develop reusable automation utilities and frameworks to improve performance testing efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in performance testing and performance engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Apache JMeter or similar performance testing tools.
- Strong understanding of load, stress, endurance, scalability, and volume testing, workload modeling, and capacity planning.
- Experience defining, validating, and testing against non-functional requirements.
- Experience preparing performance test reports, analyses, and recommendations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS-based applications, microservices, Apache Kafka, API testing, Java or Python, and distributed system architectures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in Agile and DevOps environments.
