Responsibilities
- Own large-sized, impactful projects and the technical roadmap for assigned areas.
- Design and implement robust backend systems with clean APIs and interfaces.
- Build and maintain highly scalable microservice systems and integrations with risk and mitigation systems.
- Address technical debt, reliability, scalability, security, and system health concerns.
- Lead technical delivery for large-scale, organisationally complex projects and cross-team initiatives.
- Identify solutions to ambiguous problems, make prioritization decisions, and deliver customer and business value.
- Mentor engineers, promote best practices and code quality, and contribute to a high-performing team environment.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience working with any programming language, asynchronous message queues, and highly scalable microservices.
- Experience with message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Strong product mindset and interest in customer experience and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex, ambiguous problems.
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical and architectural concepts to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to clean, testable, maintainable, and performant code, rigorous code reviews, and strong coding practices.
- Proven ability to lead technical delivery of large-scale, organisationally complex projects and anticipate organizational blockers.
- Extensive experience with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimization, schema design, and data lifecycle management for sensitive information.
