Base Salary
$158k - $253k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and ship product features end-to-end across frontend, backend, data, and integrations.
- Build the application layer and customer workflows around Lilly’s AI models and federated-learning capabilities.
- Make architecture and implementation tradeoffs, stay hands-on in the code, and contribute to code review, testing, releases, and on-call operations.
- Mentor engineers, help interview candidates, and raise engineering standards.
- Partner with product, design, data science, internal platform teams, stakeholders, and customers to shape and deliver features.
- Navigate enterprise infrastructure, security, and compliance requirements while leveraging existing Lilly capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience shipping software used and relied on by real customers.
- Experience as a senior engineer on a product team, preferably a small team.
- Strong full-stack fundamentals, including database-to-UI feature ownership and API design and integration.
- Frontend experience building polished, usable interfaces and familiarity with cloud and modern deployment practices.
- Enough AI/ML knowledge to make effective integration decisions and hands-on experience building LLM-powered features, including reliability, evaluation, and context-management considerations.
- Experience building customer-facing software, simplifying complex backend capabilities into product experiences, and working in startup or loosely defined environments.
- Preferred: life sciences, pharma, or health-tech experience; B2B SaaS experience; and startup or internal-startup experience.
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.
