Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and help shape engineering culture, best practices, and cross-functional partnerships.
- Work across the iOS stack with Engineering, Product Management, Design, and Research to deliver and validate solutions to user problems.
- Identify improvements to product UX/UI and the codebase as the iOS ecosystem evolves.
- Lead engineering practices including architecture documentation, maintainable code reviews, high-quality tests, and documentation.
- Mentor and coach technical leads and enable high-velocity, technically excellent collaboration.
- Coordinate high-impact, multi-team projects across multiple quarters and assist teams with incident diagnosis and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience developing mobile applications on iOS with Objective-C and/or Swift.
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, profiling, and optimization.
- Experience with iOS SDK frameworks, networking, data persistence, logging, and performance tooling.
- Strong understanding of iOS design guidelines, iOS networking stacks, and scalable, reusable code development.
- Experience building products from scratch and translating product requirements into concrete engineering plans.
- Track record of staff-level contributions, technical leadership or architect experience, and large-scale operational change.
- Experience coordinating high-impact projects across teams with reliable deadlines and milestones over multiple quarters.
- Experience scaling impact through peer development, technical proposal and design support, and mentorship.
- Ability to negotiate technical limitations, bring designs to life, rapidly fix bugs, and solve problems.
- Preferred: strong design and usability judgment, interest in experimentation and user behavior, and external code contributions on public forums.
