Base Salary
$137k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead board bring-up for new Android devices, including bootloader customization, kernel porting, and device driver integration.
- Design and develop Android Framework components, System Services, Hardware Abstraction Layers, and native daemons.
- Create and maintain Board Support Packages for Qualcomm, MediaTek, NVIDIA, and other SoC platforms.
- Collaborate directly with OEM partners on platform integration, debugging, technical support, and device performance optimization.
- Debug systems using Trace32, logcat, systrace, ADB, fastboot, QPST, QXDM, and GDB.
- Develop and maintain device tree configurations, kernel modules, and hardware-specific drivers.
- Optimize boot time, power consumption, and system performance metrics.
- Support multiple Android release versions and manage AOSP customizations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience, including at least five years in Android platform development.
- Strong experience with board bring-up, U-Boot or ABL bootloaders, Linux kernel customization, and device trees.
- Deep knowledge of Android BSP development, HAL implementation, kernel drivers, and system integration.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for system-level programming or Java/Kotlin for Android Framework development.
- Experience with major SoC vendors and reference platforms, including Qualcomm, MediaTek, Broadcom, Amlogic, and Realtek.
- Proven experience collaborating with OEMs on requirements, technical support, and issue resolution.
- Strong understanding of the Android architecture from bootloader through kernel, HAL, Framework, and applications.
- Experience with AOSP, BoardConfig.mk, Android build systems, Git, Gerrit, and code review processes.
- Experience with system performance analysis and optimization.
- Preferred: experience with SELinux, Verified Boot, dm-verity, multimedia subsystems, audio, display pipelines, hardware schematics, and hardware-team collaboration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, independent-learning, and written and verbal communication skills.
