Responsibilities
- Own technical projects from problem framing through rollout, incorporating user feedback and measuring outcomes.
- Build maintainable frontend experiences and reusable components with product, design, and backend teams.
- Contribute to supporting APIs and backend functionality when needed.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design feedback, pairing, and technical collaboration.
- Participate in on-call, incident response, and production support for owned software.
- Support customer escalations and identify product friction to address.
- Collaborate on shared dependencies, design proposals, demos, and technical discussions.
Requirements
- Strong frontend engineering experience building and maintaining production web applications with React and TypeScript.
- Comfort contributing to backend services and APIs, with experience across the stack.
- Experience delivering complex projects, mentoring engineers, and taking technical ownership.
- Experience operating production software, participating in on-call, and responding to incidents.
- Ability to work independently on complex engineering problems in a remote, asynchronous environment.
- Pragmatic approach to user feedback, iterative delivery, automated testing, maintainability, and secure development.
- Thoughtful use of AI coding tools and willingness to contribute to the Grafana community.
- Preferred qualifications include open-source contribution, observability experience, database or SQL experience, database performance monitoring, Go backend experience, and experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or Tempo.
