Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable microservices and cloud-native control plane components for Dell’s Data Protection portfolio.
- Build and enhance REST-based services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop distributed systems and data protection workflows for orchestration, policy management, monitoring, and lifecycle management across public cloud, hybrid cloud, and on-premises environments.
- Create automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to support product quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot product issues through debugging and root-cause analysis across multiple technology stacks.
- Participate in software design, code, security, and operational readiness reviews.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, Product Management, Customer Support, and other Engineering teams.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software development experience.
- Strong Java programming and object-oriented design skills.
- Hands-on experience building backend services with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and REST APIs.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications, microservices, or distributed systems.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Understanding of operating systems, networking fundamentals, concurrency, multithreaded programming, databases, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience developing on Linux/Unix platforms.
- Experience using modern AI development tools to support code development, testing, documentation, and software delivery.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, OpenStack, OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Preferred experience in Data Protection, Backup & Recovery, Cyber Recovery, Storage, or Infrastructure Software domains.
- Preferred familiarity with Test Driven Development, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Golang, C++, performance profiling, scalability testing, AI/ML, GenAI, or Agentic AI systems.
