Base Salary
$230k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction.
- Partner with architects and product leaders to define platform roadmaps and shared-services strategy.
- Develop cloud-based solutions using multiple programming languages, databases, container orchestration services, and AWS tools.
- Mentor engineering community members and senior engineers while driving professional development.
- Lead architectural design reviews, establish coding standards and design patterns, and influence enterprise-wide technical standards.
- Implement observability and reliability practices and optimize performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
- Lead cross-functional engineering efforts and large-scale technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred experience includes 9 or more years coding in multiple listed languages, 5 or more years with open source frameworks and front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, and 4 or more years with databases, cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred experience includes mentoring senior engineers, troubleshooting cloud environments, using observability in distributed systems, leading architecture reviews, enforcing coding standards, and implementing reliability practices at scale.
- Experience with AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, technology strategy, and cross-functional or large-scale engineering leadership is preferred.
