Responsibilities
- Lead the solution and technical architecture for a major Oceania agentic solution initiative from solutioning through delivery.
- Define target-state architecture for agent orchestration, tool and skill integration, knowledge retrieval, workflow automation, telemetry, security, and operational support.
- Document architecture decisions, patterns, assumptions, risks, constraints, trade-offs, blueprints, dependency maps, and implementation guardrails.
- Assess existing agentic assets and determine when to use AET, Azure, hybrid approaches, or global escalation paths.
- Drive proofs of concept and fail-fast validation for tax automation scenarios such as trial balance cleansing, mapping, review, reconciliation, and exception handling.
- Establish reusable AI architecture, governance, evaluation, safety, grounding, observability, cost-management, and production-support practices.
- Partner with product management, engineering, data, security, risk, operations, and regional teams to deliver implementation-ready designs.
- Lead architecture reviews and ensure non-functional requirements for security, scalability, reliability, availability, maintainability, observability, and cost efficiency are met.
- Provide hands-on architectural guidance during design, build, integration, testing, deployment, and production-readiness activities.
- Communicate complex AI, data, and platform decisions to senior stakeholders, business sponsors, product owners, engineers, and regional implementation teams.
- Mentor technical leads and collaborate with the OCTO Lead Architect on Oceania Tax strategy alignment.
Requirements
- Working and architectural knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud architecture, including application, integration, identity, networking, security, monitoring, and production operations.
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI model consumption, including model deployment, prompt engineering, governance, evaluation, and cost-aware usage.
- Knowledge of generative AI and agentic architecture patterns, including orchestration, tool calling, skills, workflows, memory, planning, human-in-the-loop controls, and deterministic fallbacks.
- Knowledge of Retrieval Augmented Generation, including document ingestion, chunking, metadata enrichment, vector indexing, hybrid search, grounding, citations, and retrieval evaluation.
- Experience with AI evaluation and quality practices such as model and prompt evaluation, RAG assessment, hallucination testing, safety testing, regression testing, and feedback loops.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration architecture, REST APIs, event-driven integration, workflow integration, system authentication, API management, and legacy integration.
- Knowledge of secure AI and data architecture, including identity and access management, RBAC/ABAC, private networking, encryption, secrets management, privacy, auditability, and information protection.
- Knowledge of AI observability, including agent traces, permitted prompt and completion logging, token usage, latency, cost tracking, success and failure metrics, telemetry, and operational dashboards.
- Knowledge of data and knowledge architecture for structured and unstructured sources, document intelligence, semantic metadata, lineage, quality, retention, and access control.
- Knowledge of application architecture for distributed and scalable products and services, including microservices, modular components, reusable APIs, configuration-driven behavior, and cloud-native deployment.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps and engineering delivery practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, secure build and release pipelines, backlog alignment, and environment management.
- Experience creating architecture decision records, solution architecture documents, diagrams, roadmaps, backlog items, and stakeholder-facing design materials.
- Preferred experience with AET, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Beehive, TRACE, OneSource, Microsoft Agent Framework, existing Spain/Madrid and UK agent solutions, Azure AI Search, vector databases, semantic search, knowledge graphs, document intelligence pipelines, and Azure integration services.
- Financial, tax, compliance, or trial-balance process knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to lead architects, work with culturally diverse globally distributed teams, and collaborate outside normal local working hours when required.
- Some domestic and international travel may be required.

- The salary range is AUD 134,000 to AUD 195,000 inclusive of superannuation, dependent on skills, experience, and work location.
