Base Salary

$232k - $348k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a next-generation data platform for batch and real-time integrations, advanced analytics, multiple data types, and real-time data processing.
  • Architect solutions across the organization and align engineering strategy with product and business goals.
  • Define standards for data ingestion, creation, enrichment, storage, governance, data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing.
  • Develop end-to-end production systems and provide mentorship, technical direction, and engineering leadership.
  • Partner with Security, Compliance, and Legal teams on data protection standards, monitoring, alerting, incident response, availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Drive architectural decisions, roadmap planning, build-versus-buy evaluations, and vendor integrations.
  • Collaborate with data science and machine learning teams on infrastructure, tooling, and platform enhancements for advanced analytics and AI initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles, including at least 5 years at the Principal Engineer level.
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale data infrastructure in complex, high-scale environments.
  • Experience with Kafka and its ecosystem, including Kafka Streams and Confluent Platform, as well as ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake, and broader big data frameworks.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and associated big data services.
  • Strong data governance and security background, including regulatory compliance and protection of sensitive information.
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, influence stakeholders, mentor teams, drive consensus, and advocate for best practices.
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Industry recognition or notable data engineering contributions, such as publications or open-source work, are a plus.
