Responsibilities
- Own frontend architecture and user experience from prototype through controlled production release.
- Build accessible, responsive web applications and internal tools using TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Translate workflow discovery, user feedback, and product requirements into user journeys, interfaces, and technical delivery plans.
- Create interfaces for AI-assisted search, document review, structured outputs, evidence, citations, workflow tasks, and human review.
- Build reusable frontend components and contribute to the R&D design system.
- Develop application-specific APIs and integrations with data sources, search and retrieval services, Microsoft 365, document repositories, and business systems.
- Deploy and operate React and Next.js applications in Azure, including hosting, configuration, monitoring, health checks, support, and rollback processes.
- Implement authentication, authorization, role-based access, and secure data controls using Microsoft Entra ID and Azure services.
- Use Docker, Git, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD to deliver maintainable software.
- Collaborate with AI engineers, data engineers, data scientists, product designers, lawyers, and business stakeholders across discovery, prototyping, productionization, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least three years of professional full-stack software engineering experience in a product or SaaS environment.
- Demonstrable experience shipping, operating, and improving web applications used by real users.
- Strong TypeScript and React experience, preferably including Next.js or a comparable production web framework.
- Backend capability with Node.js, Python, or comparable server-side technologies, including APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Experience deploying and operating React or Next.js applications in Azure using services such as Azure App Service or Azure Container Apps, Azure Monitor/Application Insights, and Azure Key Vault.
- Experience implementing enterprise authentication and authorization with Microsoft Entra ID, including SSO, OAuth/OIDC, role-based access controls, and secure API and data access.
- Experience integrating AI-enabled features such as LLM, retrieval, search, document processing, or workflow automation into user-facing applications.
- Strong product design and usability judgment covering visual hierarchy, interaction patterns, accessibility, responsive design, and non-happy-path states.
- Experience with reusable component libraries, design systems, accessible interfaces, secure coding, sensitive data, Docker, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Strong debugging, performance-tuning, and communication skills.
- Experience with legal technology or law firms is advantageous but not required.
- Desirable experience includes Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Microsoft Graph, Microsoft 365 integrations, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Service Bus, API Management, managed identities, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Bicep, Terraform, FastAPI, Express, Figma, usability testing, product analytics, document-heavy applications, search interfaces, knowledge tools, professional-services workflows, confidentiality, information barriers, and responsible-AI controls.
