Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, test, debug, and maintain configuration-management patterns and infrastructure-as-code.
- Design and maintain infrastructure and application flows, technical specifications, system configurations, and best-practice documentation.
- Lead infrastructure-as-code projects and build reusable tools and abstractions for reliable cloud deployments.
- Design, implement, maintain, and release Kubernetes container-orchestration platforms in hybrid cloud environments.
- Automate AWS services and cloud deployments using Terraform and Ansible.
- Monitor environment health, troubleshoot complex infrastructure and hardware problems, resolve failures, and improve performance and reliability.
- Support products, add new features, participate in change-management processes, and maintain internal systems.
- Coach and mentor staff on team policies, procedures, use cases, and technical patterns.
- Facilitate technical design sessions, analyze user needs, and translate business requirements into technical requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support risk management and the confidentiality and integrity of systems and data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent certifications.
- Typically five or more years of related experience, including demonstrated DevOps, software engineering, or related experience.
- At least three years of experience with modern application design patterns.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, containerization, orchestration, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, workflow pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and data-center operations.
- Expertise with AWS foundations and services, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and scalable distributed cloud or data-center systems.
- Knowledge of Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proficiency with Linux administration, scripting, networks, DNS, HTTP, TLS, load balancing, build systems, and debugging.
- Experience designing robust, secure, and observable cloud infrastructure and architecting Kubernetes-based systems.
- Experience with security and encryption protocols and the ability to facilitate technical design sessions.
- Preferred certifications include Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes, and Azure or other cloud-based certifications.
- Ability to work on multiple projects, work varied schedules in an on-call rotation, and pass a background and drug screen.
