Responsibilities
- Develop regional, geographic, and account strategies with cross-functional partners.
- Recruit, hire, lead, retain, and coach a pre-sales Solutions Architecture team.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Professional Services, Product, and Development on go-to-market initiatives.
- Lead executive customer engagements, executive business centers, customer meetings, and business reviews.
- Support complex evaluations, problem-solving, and challenging customer environments.
- Build processes to measure and optimize the Solution Engineering team’s performance and impact.
- Represent Stripe at industry events and conferences and contribute to industry best practices.
- Advocate for customer needs to influence product direction and feature priorities.
- Serve as an escalation point for pre-sales and post-sales technical issues.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of pre-sales leadership experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in technical sales, such as Solutions Architecture or Consulting.
- Experience building and leading high-performing Solutions Architecture or engineering teams, ideally in SaaS or usage-based businesses.
- Strong understanding of SaaS platform operations and monetization.
- Previous technical sales experience with APIs, distributed systems, databases, and/or developer tools, or previous payments industry experience.
- Understanding of human-centered customer experience, enterprise systems and architecture, and middleware.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong executive presence and ability to build deep relationships with users.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience.
