Responsibilities
- Design and develop SAP S/4HANA order management extensions and services using RAP, ABAP Cloud, CDS, released APIs, and clean-core extensibility practices.
- Build side-by-side SAP BTP extensions and CAP services using Node.js and/or Java, including data models, handlers, authorization, multitenancy, and Fiori applications.
- Design, implement, operate, and support SAP Integration Suite integrations, Cloud Integration iFlows, API Management, Event Mesh, and Open Connectors.
- Integrate SAP S/4HANA with legacy order systems, dealer-facing channels, logistics providers, and enterprise platforms using IDoc, SOAP, REST, OData, SFTP, JMS, Kafka, BAPI, RFC, and PI/PO.
- Design secure versioned APIs and apply OAuth 2.0, mutual TLS, SAML, JWT, rate limiting, and API lifecycle practices.
- Own end-to-end solution quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, performance tuning, release management, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production support.
- Create technical designs, API contracts, integration specifications, support procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, stakeholders, and engineering teams, while mentoring colleagues and improving SAP engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- At least 5 years of hands-on SAP development experience, including at least 3 years with SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience building and supporting enterprise SAP applications, integrations, or order management solutions.
- Productive RAP development experience covering behavior definitions and implementations, CDS view entities, projection views, metadata extensions, draft-enabled scenarios, and business events.
- Strong ABAP Cloud and ABAP for Cloud Development experience, including released APIs, restricted ABAP, clean-core principles, and extensibility trade-offs.
- Advanced CDS experience with annotations, associations, access controls, code pushdown, performance-aware modeling, and AMDP where appropriate.
- CAP development experience with CDS modeling, service definitions, custom handlers, authentication, authorization, and multitenancy.
- Experience with SAP BTP runtimes, tooling, SAP HANA Cloud, Business Application Studio, MTA deployment, and connectivity services.
- Experience with SAP Integration Suite Cloud Integration iFlows, scripting, mappings, adapters, error handling, reprocessing, API Management, and event-driven integration.
- Experience with API security, Git-based development, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, enterprise security, data protection, and compliance.
- Preferred qualifications include SAP Sales and Distribution or Materials Management order-to-cash knowledge, automotive or dealer-network experience, SAP certifications, cloud platform experience, Kubernetes, observability tools, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, and German or Spanish language skills.
