Responsibilities
- Gather requirements and propose appropriate integration and design solutions.
- Architect, design, and support implementations and migrations of SAP Cloud Integration and SAP PI/PO projects.
- Design scalable, secure, and resilient API Management and gateway infrastructures for microservices and cloud-native workflows.
- Configure API policies for authentication, rate limiting, caching, data transformation, and security.
- Establish API governance standards for versioning, documentation, and design patterns.
- Integrate API gateways with backend systems, legacy databases, message brokers, and third-party platforms.
- Build automated API deployment and lifecycle pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Configure telemetry, logging, metrics, monitoring, and vulnerability detection for API gateways.
- Analyze SAP Cloud Integration traces, errors, and monitoring logs and develop solutions to business and technical requirements.
- Mentor junior PI/PO/CI team members and liaise with delivery teams on technical capabilities.
- Build reusable assets and accelerators to reduce cost to serve.
- Lead go-to-market strategies supporting sales and alliance teams.
- Integrate SAP and non-SAP systems in A2A and B2B scenarios using synchronous and asynchronous interfaces.
Requirements
- 15+ years of SAP PI/PO experience, including 12+ years in SAP Cloud Integration.
- At least three end-to-end implementations, preferably greenfield implementations.
- Minimum 5–8 years in core IT integration, including 3–5 years of hands-on API Management architecture and development.
- Deep proficiency in API Management and platforms such as Google Apigee and AWS API Gateway.
- Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JSON Web Tokens, and SSL/TLS certificate management.
- Experience with RESTful and SOAP architectures, GraphQL, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Expertise with JSON, XML, YAML, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
- Expertise integrating SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP Cloud Integration, including synchronous and asynchronous interfaces.
- Experience with SAP Cloud Integration mappings, pallet functions, custom Groovy or JavaScript scripts, and adapters.
- Experience integrating SuccessFactors, Salesforce, C4C, Hybris, Ariba, and other third-party products.
- Experience configuring IDOC, SFTP, SOAP, REST, OData, HTTP/S, Mail, JDBC, FTP, and SuccessFactors adapters.
- Knowledge of SAP Integration Suite capabilities including API Management, Event Mesh, Open Connectors, Data Intelligence, IRPA, Integration Advisor, and Edge Integration Cell.
- Knowledge of CPEA, SAP Cloud Integration, and subaccount provisioning in CPEA.
- Experience with XSLT is preferred; SAP Cloud Integration certification is preferred.
- Experience with MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, and SAP CI-DS is advantageous.
- Sound understanding of at least one end-to-end business process such as MM, PP, SD, or Supply Chain.
- Expertise in at least one industry such as manufacturing, automotive, chemical, or life sciences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, customer-expectation management, flexibility, and ability to work independently.
