Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated tests for robot software, APIs, backend services, web applications, and end-to-end cloud-to-physical-robot workflows.
- Perform manual, exploratory, regression, and release testing for new and existing features.
- Validate UI implementations against product requirements and design specifications.
- Conduct performance, load, stress, and reliability testing for critical software workflows.
- Test account systems, authentication, authorization, permissions, and data security flows.
- Validate software releases at both the software and robot levels, including regression, fault-injection, and recovery testing.
- Work closely with software engineering, product, and design teams to identify bugs, improve reliability, and ensure secure, scalable, production-ready software.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as an SDET, QA Automation Engineer, Software Engineer in Test, or similar.
- Strong coding ability in TypeScript, JavaScript, Rust, Python, Java, Go, or a similar language.
- Experience testing modern web applications, APIs, backend services, and cloud-based software.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Experience with performance or load testing tools such as k6, JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.
- Strong attention to detail, debugging ability, and clear written communication.
- Preferred: experience as the first or an early QA/SDET hire at a startup or fast-moving engineering team.
- Preferred: familiarity with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, databases, authentication systems, and observability tools.
- Preferred: interest in robotics, AI platforms, developer tools, or physical AI systems.
