Responsibilities
- Develop distributed middleware for communication, workload orchestration, telemetry, IPC, networking, process supervision, and fault-tolerant autonomous operations.
- Build fail-safe Over-The-Air update mechanisms and resilient software infrastructure for heterogeneous onboard compute systems.
- Develop and maintain custom embedded Linux platforms for NVIDIA Jetson-based flight computers from board bring-up through deployment.
- Perform real-time kernel tuning, low-level driver development, system profiling, and selective kernel slimming.
- Architect hardened, minimal-footprint Linux operating systems and collaborate across avionics, autonomy, AI/ML, and hardware teams.
Requirements
- BEng/MEng in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong foundation in C++.
- Experience developing embedded software using Linux or an RTOS such as RTEMS or FreeRTOS.
- Understanding of multi-process architectures, inter-process communication, communication protocols, debugging, and performance characterisation.
- Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux kernel architecture, U-Boot, low-level system bring-up, real-time Linux tuning, fault-tolerant design, publish-subscribe middleware, OTA update frameworks, space systems, and multidisciplinary system integration.
