Responsibilities
- Implement new technologies and establish architecture patterns, practices, and standards across development teams.
- Develop application and technical architectures for complex software applications, including technology selection, frameworks, tools, and third-party integrations.
- Contribute to the design, architecture, development, prototyping, code reviews, and technical problem-solving for business solutions.
- Make and communicate key system design and integration decisions to technical stakeholders and implementation teams.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, mentoring, and architectural guidance across matrixed teams.
- Monitor application quality, performance, reliability, and scalability, and develop improvement plans.
- Design, deploy, and operate production applications on Kubernetes, including containerization, orchestration, networking, observability, scalability, and resiliency.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and prepare recommendations for technology adoption.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of programming experience developing software applications with object-oriented programming languages.
- At least five years of experience providing technical team leadership to a small development team.
- Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent education.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Expertise in software development technologies, application architecture patterns, programming languages, continuous build and integration, and Service Oriented Architecture.
- Deep hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating applications on Kubernetes in production environments.
- Ability to provide senior technical and application perspective, communicate effectively with varied stakeholders, and deliver solutions across competing priorities.
- Ability to remain hands-on while providing architectural leadership, work autonomously, and exercise sound judgment in matrix settings.
- Preferred experience with Dapr, Astronomer/Airflow, agentic AI applications, enterprise AI platforms, LLMs, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation, agent frameworks, and AI governance.
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Power Platform Solution Architect Expert, or TOGAF are preferred.
