Base Salary
$180k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Speak with manufacturers to understand workflows and translate customer needs into product improvements.
- Build backend systems that ingest and process documents from customer ERPs and inboxes.
- Develop AI agents for complex food safety and compliance documents.
- Own product features across discovery, problem definition, frontend development, shipping, and iteration.
- Make pragmatic technical decisions and address emerging product and engineering needs.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience, including substantial hands-on software engineering and production coding.
- Experience transitioning from product management into engineering or serving as a sole or first product engineer with end-to-end product ownership.
- Demonstrated success shipping products or major features used by real customers and explaining technical and product tradeoffs.
- Strong full-stack skills across backend services, frontend development, and relational database design such as PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Kotlin and Spring Boot or another JVM backend, plus React and Next.js, is relevant.
- Production experience with AI or LLM products, agents, search, RAG, document processing, or unstructured data extraction is preferred.
- Experience with GCP or another major cloud platform and familiarity with food manufacturing, supply chains, or traditional industrial sectors are helpful.
Benefits
- Base salary of $180,000 to $250,000 annually plus 0.5% to 1.5% equity.
- On-site work in San Francisco, California.
