Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and NestJS.
- Architect and implement scalable APIs, integrations, and event-driven systems.
- Build and optimize high-throughput transaction and data-processing workflows.
- Design data models, service architectures, and integration patterns for distributed systems.
- Develop asynchronous processing systems using queues, workers, and background jobs.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
- Improve platform reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Implement logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and alerting practices.
- Contribute to API design, developer experience, documentation, and internal tooling.
- Participate in architecture discussions and influence long-term platform strategy.
- Use modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
- Own projects from design through deployment and ongoing optimization.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and production experience with NestJS or similar Node.js frameworks.
- Experience designing and building scalable APIs and backend services.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs, webhooks, and external platforms.
- Solid system design and solution architecture skills for systems operating at significant scale and complexity.
- Experience with observability tools, monitoring systems, and production troubleshooting.
- Understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, and maintainability.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with a proactive, ownership-driven approach.
- Experience with queue management and background job processing tools such as BullMQ is preferred.
- Familiarity with Next.js or modern frontend frameworks is preferred.
- Experience with high-volume transactional or integration-heavy systems is preferred.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, distributed architectures, microservices, or platform engineering is preferred.
- Experience using AI-powered development tools is preferred.
- Startup or high-growth company experience is preferred.
- Fluent English is required.
