Responsibilities
- Design, build, run, maintain, and scale multi-tenant SaaS applications using cloud-native architecture.
- Migrate on-premise components into a modern cloud architecture and ensure data flow across cloud, on-premise, and edge layers.
- Architect and implement high-throughput backend services and distributed systems.
- Write scalable, maintainable code and help establish engineering and system-design standards.
- Own features end to end, including technical design, backend implementation, automated deployment, and production monitoring.
- Act as a Node.js subject matter expert, provide technical guidance, prototype architectural solutions, and influence technical decisions.
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams across Motorola Solutions and D-Fend.
- Occasionally contribute to React development to deliver complete end-to-end features.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Expertise with Node.js and TypeScript, including NestJS or Express.
- Strong experience designing and building event-driven microservices with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with cloud observability patterns including metrics, distributed tracing, and structured logging.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Practical experience with React or strong willingness to work with it when necessary.
- Preferred experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or Serverless Framework.
- Preferred experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or other development-assisting generative AI tools.
- Preferred knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and mTLS.
- Preferred experience with time-series telemetry pipelines, long-term storage tiering, and observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
- Proven ability to contribute to system architecture, make high-level design decisions, and solve complex distributed-systems problems.
