Base Salary
$173k - $214k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build responsive, scalable, customer-facing Android features from concept through deployment.
- Develop the primary member-facing application embedded on Peloton Bikes, Treads, and Rows.
- Mentor and elevate mid-level and junior engineers while improving team processes and engineering solutions.
- Partner with Product, UX, and Design to assess feasibility, manage dependencies, and implement requirements.
- Use profiling and engineering analysis to optimize UI performance, memory usage, and threading.
- Tackle complex engineering tasks independently while leveraging AI-first coding tools such as Claude Code.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years of dedicated Android development.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Deep understanding of Kotlin, Java, Android threading, MVVM, and MVI.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, data processing, and complex engineering trade-offs.
- Ability to coordinate across teams, work independently on complex tasks, and translate product and design requirements into high-performance software.
- Experience with continuous build integration in an Agile environment, active GitHub projects, or open-source contributions is preferred.
- Familiarity with Espresso and exposure to gRPC and GraphQL are preferred.
