Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable shared backend services using Java and serverless technologies.
- Build RESTful APIs and event-driven systems.
- Develop serverless applications on AWS using Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, and EventBridge.
- Contribute to user-facing frontend components as needed.
- Optimize existing services for performance and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, engineering leads, and distributed cross-functional teams.
- Mentor and guide junior developers.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated build, deployment, and testing processes.
- Ensure code quality through peer reviews, automated testing, software development standards, profiling, and debugging.
- Create documentation, usage guidelines, and examples for shared components.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of backend development experience.
- Proficiency in Java and experience with serverless frameworks such as AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions.
- Hands-on experience with frontend technologies such as React and Web Components.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and data modeling.
- Practical experience developing serverless applications on AWS.
- Experience with software development best practices, including design patterns, test-driven development, code profiling, and debugging.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and build, deployment, and test automation.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders in distributed and agile environments.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for mentoring junior engineers.
- Preferred: understanding or experience with AI/ML.
