Responsibilities
- Develop complex, scalable web-based solutions using Java and related technologies.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
- Design, estimate, document, and deliver software features in accordance with architectural standards and roadmaps.
- Troubleshoot application and dependent-system issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
- Drive improvements to software maintenance, operational performance, runtime characteristics, testing, and engineering processes.
- Optimize and simplify systems, remove bottlenecks, and support code packaging and deployment automation.
- Coordinate with other engineers to ensure work is completed on time and to a high quality.
- Maintain and update technical design documentation affected by application changes.
Requirements
- Advanced experience developing applications with Java, Hibernate, Spring Boot, web services, Eclipse, Apache, and Scala.
- Advanced understanding of WebSphere, JBoss, and Tomcat.
- Good database development knowledge with Oracle and PL/SQL.
- Experience with test-driven development practices and tools such as JUnit and Maven.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, Fortify, Sonar, and code packaging or deployment automation.
- Experience with microservices and Pivotal Cloud Foundry is highly desired.
- Understanding of agile development methods and software design principles including DRY, Single Responsibility, and SOLID.
