Responsibilities

  • Evaluate critical production architectures across AWS and on-premises data centers for single points of failure, capacity risks, and resilience gaps.
  • Validate high availability, failover, backup and recovery, RTO/RPO adherence, and multi-Availability Zone and multi-Region disaster recovery mechanisms.
  • Design and lead chaos engineering, resilience testing, and game-day exercises, converting findings into hardening actions.
  • Provide architectural guidance on AWS services, EKS/Kubernetes, containers, networking, and database reliability.
  • Standardize runbooks and operational procedures and lead incident investigations, post-incident reviews, root cause analysis, and permanent remediation.
  • Champion observability across New Relic, Grafana, LogicMonitor, Site24x7, Prometheus, and CloudWatch.
  • Advise leadership on reliability strategy, risk posture, and resilience roadmaps while mentoring SRE and engineering team members.
  • Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, scripting, and JSM automation.

Requirements

  • B.E., B.Tech, MCA, or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–13 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, cloud architecture, and/or site reliability engineering, including large-scale AWS production systems.
  • Deep expertise in AWS, the AWS Well-Architected Framework, compute, networking, storage, IAM, Regions, Availability Zones, and multi-AZ or multi-Region architectures.
  • Proven experience designing and validating disaster recovery strategies, including Backup & Restore, Pilot Light, Warm Standby, Multi-Site Active/Active, failover, replication, and DR drills.
  • Strong production experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and ideally Amazon EKS, plus database high availability, replication, recovery, and performance.
  • Practical experience with chaos engineering, failure-mode analysis, observability, monitoring, ITSM, automation, infrastructure as code, scripting, and infrastructure CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence engineers and leadership.
  • Preferred qualifications include AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, CKA/CKAD, or equivalent certifications; on-premises data center operations; formal DR programs; enterprise resilience frameworks; security tooling; AIOps; and mentoring experience.
