Responsibilities
- Build features across Proton’s products.
- Develop scalable software architecture using software engineering best practices.
- Work closely with product teams and engineers across the company.
- Optimize user experience and design.
- Lead team initiatives from discovery through production.
- Build resilient services that integrate with payment, tax-information, currency-conversion, and other external providers.
Requirements
- Proven experience with backend development.
- Expertise building scalable, high-performance solutions.
- Proficiency with profiling techniques and performance optimization tools.
- Strong understanding of SQL, preferably MySQL, and data modeling best practices.
- Familiarity with Redis or other caching technologies.
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing secure software solutions.
- In-depth understanding of HTTP/REST and developing and consuming web APIs.
- Solid understanding of cryptographic concepts, including key exchange and symmetric versus asymmetric encryption.
- Experience in the payments domain is a bonus.
