Responsibilities

  • Build features across Proton’s products.
  • Develop scalable software architecture using software engineering best practices.
  • Work closely with product teams and engineers across the company.
  • Optimize user experience and design.
  • Lead team initiatives from discovery through production.
  • Build resilient services that integrate with payment, tax-information, currency-conversion, and other external providers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with backend development.
  • Expertise building scalable, high-performance solutions.
  • Proficiency with profiling techniques and performance optimization tools.
  • Strong understanding of SQL, preferably MySQL, and data modeling best practices.
  • Familiarity with Redis or other caching technologies.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing secure software solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of HTTP/REST and developing and consuming web APIs.
  • Solid understanding of cryptographic concepts, including key exchange and symmetric versus asymmetric encryption.
  • Experience in the payments domain is a bonus.
