Base Salary
$115k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical architecture and leadership across communications orchestration, channel delivery, and document platforms.
- Architect, build, and deploy scalable, resilient, secure, and highly available cloud systems.
- Design event-driven workflows, rule evaluation, asynchronous processing, RESTful APIs, microservices, and internal web applications.
- Establish practices for reliability, testing, deployment, rollback, monitoring, observability, and operational readiness.
- Implement metrics, distributed tracing, structured logging, alerting, and post-incident improvement processes.
- Use AI coding assistants for requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, refactoring, and issue support.
- Champion responsible AI-assisted development through prompts, workflows, quality standards, security guardrails, and coaching.
- Mentor engineers and influence architecture, experimentation, and delivery across multiple teams.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience and at least 2 years in a technical leadership capacity.
- Deep expertise in Java, including Java 17 or later, with Java 21 preferred, and the Spring Boot 3.x ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience using and helping teams adopt AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or comparable tools.
- Proven ability to build scalable, resilient, secure, maintainable production systems using microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture.
- Expertise with Azure, AWS, or GCP; service design; performance optimization; reliability engineering; and observability or SRE practices.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, workflow orchestration, asynchronous systems, high-throughput messaging, and system reliability improvements is preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include Kafka, Temporal, SRE or platform engineering, distributed tracing, log aggregation, alerting, A/B testing, feature flags, migrations, legacy modernization, regulated industries, document generation, communications platforms, open source, and applied generative AI.
- Strong collaboration, communication, mentoring, technical influence, and stakeholder-management skills.
