Responsibilities
- Develop responsive, accessible, and cross-client compatible HTML email newsletters and templates from Figma, Adobe XD, and Photoshop mockups.
- Integrate email code into CRM and email delivery platforms and perform pre-deployment quality assurance.
- Troubleshoot complex HTML/CSS rendering issues, dark mode anomalies, and client-specific bugs.
- Apply email-safe CSS, VML, ghost tables, and conditional logic for compatibility across modern and legacy email clients, including Outlook.
- Use Litmus or Email on Acid for cross-device, cross-browser, and cross-client validation.
- Maintain scalable email design systems, reusable component libraries, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and production teams on feasibility, workflows, and deadlines.
- Mentor junior team members, share technical knowledge, and stay current with email rendering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Multimedia Arts, or a related field is preferred but not required with equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of dedicated, hands-on HTML email development and newsletter integration experience.
- Proven ability to build HTML email newsletters from scratch.
- Experience in a digital agency or production environment is advantageous.
- Strong HTML/CSS email skills, including table-based layouts, inline and embedded CSS, fluid/hybrid layouts, media queries, bulletproof CTAs, image optimization, and dark mode styling.
- Proficiency with Outlook-specific development techniques including Office Conditional Comments, Ghost Tables, VML, DPI scaling fixes, and spacing hacks.
- Hands-on experience with CRM or ESP platforms such as Adobe Campaign, Splio, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, or Adobe Journey Optimizer.
- Experience using Litmus or Email on Acid for automated cross-client previewing and code analysis.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, self-direction, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
- Preferred experience with Figma or Photoshop, JavaScript or scripting languages, dynamic personalization logic, and Git or other version control systems.
