Responsibilities
- Own product features end-to-end from customer problem discovery and design through implementation, release, monitoring, and iteration.
- Build and scale Go backend services that ingest and model AI spending and usage data.
- Develop TypeScript and React interfaces that present cost and usage information clearly to FinOps practitioners and platform engineers.
- Build API-first capabilities that can be used by both humans and agents.
- Use AI tools throughout code exploration, prototyping, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation.
- Set engineering standards through design reviews, guardrails, and effective engineering practices.
- Mentor peers and share technical learning.
- Help define product direction and connect engineering decisions to customer outcomes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including work on multi-tenant SaaS products and end-to-end production ownership.
- Strong Go experience building backend services, APIs, and data-processing systems.
- Strong TypeScript and modern React experience.
- Ability to work across the stack from data models and backend services through user interfaces.
- Experience with public cloud, preferably GCP, or AWS or Azure.
- Working proficiency with SQL and analytical stores such as BigQuery.
- Product-oriented thinking and the ability to work through ambiguity.
- Existing experience using AI tools across the engineering workflow, with concrete understanding of their benefits and limitations.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectural principles, with the ability to set direction for others.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Self-organized, goal-oriented, self-motivated, confident, thorough, and tenacious.
- Knowledge of FinOps or FinOps products is preferred.
- A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
- A portfolio demonstrating prior work is preferred.
