
Staff AI Security Engineer

Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the AI security strategy for product and corporate environments.
- Lead secure design and threat modeling for LLMs, agentic workflows, and retrieval pipelines.
- Identify and mitigate prompt injection, data exfiltration, model abuse, and privilege-escalation risks.
- Build scalable AI security guardrails and tooling for safe experimentation.
- Establish AI governance frameworks for identity, access control, auditability, and observability.
- Own and lead the AI Red Team to identify vulnerabilities proactively.
- Design and implement near-real-time AI observability pipelines for anomalous model behavior and policy violations.
- Develop and operationalize AI incident-response playbooks and conduct AI-focused simulations.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to enable responsible AI innovation.
- Mentor engineers and establish high standards for secure AI development.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in a software engineering discipline, including at least 5+ years focused on security.
- Hands-on experience securing AI/ML systems and conducting AI red teaming against LLMs, agentic workflows, or RAG systems.
- Experience developing or implementing automated LLM vulnerability testing for prompt injection and data exfiltration.
- Strong knowledge of application security, threat modeling, secure design, identity, and access control.
- Experience building tools and automation with a developer mindset.
- Experience influencing senior engineers and cross-functional product, legal, and compliance stakeholders.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and cultivating an organizational security culture.
- Strong working knowledge of developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based collaboration.
- Ability to translate emerging AI risks into pragmatic, scalable security controls and operate effectively in ambiguity.
