
System Engineer Graduate (Operating System-System Technologies and Engineering) - 2027 Start
ByteDanceResponsibilities
- Migrate device drivers and key OS components from Linux upstream or vendor codebases to the ByteDance kernel and Linux OS distribution.
- Participate in code reviews for Linux Kernel and OS key component changes.
- Help design and develop OS and Kernel quality assurance test systems, OS image build platforms, and OS deployment and operations systems.
- Act as the primary escalation point for end-user OS issues and coordinate resolution across internal teams.
- Develop, maintain, and improve operating systems and related testing, delivery, deployment, and maintenance systems for bare-metal and third-party cloud servers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related major.
- Experience in Linux operating system development or a similar field is preferred.
- Familiarity with computer architecture and the server development life cycle is preferred.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating system architecture, Linux Kernel mechanisms, Linux Kernel programming, systemd, and glibc is preferred.
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language such as C, C++, Go, Python, or Java is preferred.
- Candidates must be able to commit to an onboarding date by the end of the year and should state availability and graduation date clearly on their resume.
