Responsibilities
- Develop secure, maintainable Python backend features for the Digital Onboarding Service in a serverless and containerized architecture.
- Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
- Build cloud-native solutions using AWS services including Lambda, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
- Implement integrations with internal systems and third-party APIs using REST, webhooks, and event-driven patterns.
- Apply clean architecture, SOLID principles, object-oriented design, repository, factory, strategy, and dependency-injection patterns.
- Implement resilient systems with retries, error handling, circuit breakers, dead-letter queues, and asynchronous messaging.
- Contribute to automated testing, performance optimization, monitoring, system reliability, CI/CD delivery, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with technical architects, engineers, product managers, designers, client stakeholders, and DevOps teams.
Requirements
- Professional software engineering experience with strong commercial Python experience.
- Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Flask, or similar backend frameworks and extensive experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services.
- Strong AWS experience, including ECS Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions, IAM, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with serverless architecture, containerized applications, Docker, and AWS ECS/Fargate.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs, enterprise platforms, and external services.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming, clean code, and distributed-system design.
- Experience implementing API security using OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect, API keys, and secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, or DynamoDB.
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation is highly desirable.
- Understanding of deployment processes, monitoring, logging, environment management, data protection, access control, and secure software development practices.
- Experience in secure or regulated environments such as healthcare, finance, or government is beneficial.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Nice-to-have experience with React, Next.js, automated testing, WebSockets, event-driven or real-time data patterns, AWS Cognito, OpenAPI/Swagger, API lifecycle management, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
