Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable quality engineering solutions across critical product and platform areas.
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for front-end, back-end, API, and integration testing.
- Perform manual and automated testing of user interfaces, APIs, databases, and distributed software systems.
- Design and execute test strategies, plans, cases, and detailed reports for complex applications.
- Build and maintain automation suites using Selenium, Playwright, and similar testing frameworks.
- Use Postman for API testing and validation of integrations, workflows, and data consistency.
- Write and maintain code for automation frameworks, testing utilities, and engineering tools.
- Translate business and product requirements into testing strategies that improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
- Lead quality initiatives and influence engineering best practices related to testing, automation, observability, and operational excellence.
- Identify system risks, performance issues, defects, and technical debt and drive improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, architects, and engineering leaders on quality goals and technical priorities.
- Perform root cause analysis for complex production issues and drive preventive solutions.
- Mentor engineers and QA professionals through technical guidance, code reviews, and automation best practices.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and long-term platform evolution while promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, or test automation roles.
- Strong experience testing complex web applications across front-end and back-end systems.
- Deep understanding of software design, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems concepts.
- Strong programming skills in Core Java and experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks with Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman and service integration validation.
- Strong SQL skills for backend validation and data verification.
- Experience with UI, API, database, and end-to-end test automation.
- Understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle, defect management, and quality processes.
- Experience using JIRA or similar test and issue management platforms.
- Knowledge of performance testing, reliability engineering, observability, and secure software development practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and leading cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Ability to mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and drive quality improvements without direct authority.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
