Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the IBM i/AS400/iSeries platform.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and robust solutions.
- Develop and optimize DB2 for i database objects, including physical and logical files, tables, views, and stored procedures.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues while minimizing downtime for business-critical systems.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, system integration support, and user acceptance testing support.
- Maintain and enhance legacy applications and support modernization initiatives such as free-format RPG migration, web enablement, and API integration.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and follow coding standards, change management processes, and SDLC practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on AS400/IBM i application development experience.
- Strong proficiency in RPG IV, RPGLE, and Free-format RPG.
- Strong experience with CL programming and DB2 for i, embedded SQL, and SQLRPGLE.
- Experience with RDi, PDM, SEU, DDS, file structures, data areas, and data queues.
- Experience with debugging, performance tuning, production support, version control, and change management tools.
- Preferred experience with Warehouse Management Systems, food sales/service applications, IBM i modernization tools, web services, REST APIs, Profound UI, MQ, EDI, or middleware.
- IBM i certifications and exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies are preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
