Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the IBM i platform using RPG, CL, and SQL.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop and optimize DB2 for i database objects including files, tables, and stored procedures.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, and support system integration and UAT.
- Maintain and enhance existing legacy applications while supporting modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts and QA.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions.
- Adhere to coding standards and SDLC best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in AS400/IBM i application development.
- Strong proficiency in RPG IV, RPGLE, and Free-format RPG.
- Solid experience with CL programming.
- Strong knowledge of DB2 for i and embedded SQL.
- Experience with development tools such as RDi, PDM, SEU, and DDS.
- Good understanding of file structures and data management.
- Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and production support.
- Familiarity with version control and change management tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
