Responsibilities
- Support highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable systems and define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Implement end-to-end monitoring, logging, alerting, telemetry, and self-healing capabilities for applications and infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call rotations, lead high-impact production incident response, and drive post-incident corrective and preventive actions.
- Automate scaling, incident recovery, and routine operational tasks while building internal tools and platforms.
- Partner with development teams on releases, rollbacks, change validation, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams and document operational practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience with incident management processes in IT operations.
- At least 7 years of experience with Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, CSS, J2EE technologies, and the Spring framework.
- At least 1 year of experience with ReactJS or Angular and container technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.
- Knowledge of web security and the OWASP Top 10.
- Experience or exposure to web services, databases, DevOps tools, MFA, cloud-hosted applications on AWS, collaboration tools, Kafka, middleware, and AI-based tools.
- Ability to lead cross-functional investigations and demonstrate strong analysis, debugging, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain Canadian Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance, including a minimum of five consecutive years of residency in Canada, and complete applicable background checks.
