Base Salary
$176k - $32k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop APIs and partner integrations that connect ride requests and rider actions to vehicle workflows.
- Build services that process vehicle telemetry and provide accurate, timely vehicle and trip status.
- Improve production availability, latency, resilience, monitoring, and diagnostics, including handling delayed updates, retries, and partial failures.
- Work with product, vehicle engineering, and operations teams to deliver, launch, and iterate on services based on production behavior and user feedback.
- Lead design discussions, make technical trade-offs, conduct code reviews, share knowledge, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production backend services and strong proficiency in Go.
- Experience designing and operating scalable, highly available services with API design, data modeling, asynchronous workflows, and failure handling.
- Hands-on experience operating services and data stores on GCP or a comparable cloud platform, including technologies such as Cloud SQL, Redis, or BigQuery.
- Experience taking projects from problem definition through launch and iteration, with strong product judgment and ownership.
- Experience leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, and communicating design decisions across teams.
- Bonus experience with dispatch, fleet management, location services, ride-hailing, delivery, logistics platforms, event-driven architectures, streaming data, or connected-device systems.
