Base Salary
$160k - $241k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and own backend services for ride planning, vehicle matching, and real-time trip execution.
- Design and operate reliable, performant distributed systems supporting Nuro’s ride-hailing product.
- Develop partner API integrations, including routing ride requests from Uber and other platforms to Nuro vehicles.
- Build telemetry pipelines that surface live vehicle state to riders and operations.
- Own product work end to end from requirements through launch and iteration.
- Provide technical leadership by setting engineering standards, mentoring others, and making difficult technical trade-offs.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Go.
- Experience designing and operating reliable distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with GCP, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Redis, or equivalent technologies.
- Demonstrated end-to-end product ownership from requirements through launch and iteration.
- Track record of technical leadership, mentoring, and making hard trade-offs.
- Preferred experience with dispatch, fleet, location, delivery, inventory, order, or ride platforms, especially systems serving the physical world.
- Interest in product and business requirements and ability to identify high-impact initiatives.
