Responsibilities
- Build and operate production systems for data ingestion, optimisation, forecasting, and machine learning.
- Design scalable data and ML pipelines using Python, Databricks, Spark, and Airflow.
- Provide reusable training, evaluation, deployment, and experiment-tracking capabilities for Applied Scientists.
- Productionise models with dependable inputs and outputs, automated deployment, quality and performance monitoring, and traceable model behaviour.
- Develop and operate Databricks jobs and Dockerised applications running as Kubernetes pods.
- Build operational dashboards, alerts, and runbooks for system visibility and incident response.
- Translate business rules and decision requirements into maintainable software components with product and commercial partners.
- Improve standards for system design, testing, code review, software delivery, observability, and operational ownership.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience building and running data or ML systems in production, such as MLOps, data engineering, ML platforms, or ML product development.
- Strong production Python skills and familiarity with automated testing, code review, and CI/CD practices.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainable system design.
- Understanding of cloud workload deployment and operation, including AWS, Docker containers, and Kubernetes-based execution.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders and the ability to turn ambiguous problems into dependable systems.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Co-pilot, Codex, or Claude Code is welcome.
