Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, operate, and maintain scalable billing platform services and related customer-facing capabilities.
- Develop new features and services for the billing control plane, billing experience, and account lifecycle management.
- Contribute to architecture, technical design, reliability, scaling, and next-generation platform migration efforts.
- Own and lead multiple platform domains from inception through deployment and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve operational and production issues while improving procedures, tools, observability, and early warning systems.
- Execute the full software development lifecycle, including writing testable code, documentation, flowcharts, upgrades, and software maintenance.
- Work with Product and stakeholders to understand requirements, define technical work, and communicate solution rationale and customer impact.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams and foster an inclusive working environment.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience building highly scalable products.
- At least 5 years of programming experience in an object-oriented language such as Java, with clean code practices.
- Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming and experience contributing to architecture and design of scalable, reliable systems.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, cloud solutions, REST APIs, and highly available distributed systems.
- Experience improving observability and early warning systems using tools such as Grafana, Datadog, or Prometheus.
- Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and automation.
- Experience working with Product teams and stakeholders at all levels, including technical requirements definition.
- Strong written and spoken communication, ownership, debugging, and production support skills.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred experience includes on-call support for mission-critical systems, complex SQL query optimization, customer-facing applications, Linux, Kubernetes containerization, gRPC, Python, TypeScript, React, and Apache Kafka.
