Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an end-to-end animation data pipeline for ML training and deployment.
- Build stress tests to validate model robustness and performance before release.
- Analyze live deployment data to identify issues and optimize model performance.
- Gather, annotate, and synthesize training data from EA FC motion-capture data, real-world volumetric data, and animation-expert feedback.
- Apply machine learning techniques to develop high-quality human motion models that respond to real-time controller input.
- Collaborate with production, design, and art teams to identify and drive impactful projects.
- Share results through shipped features, presentations, papers, prototypes, and interactive demonstrations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in Python.
- At least 2 years of industry experience, including internships, in machine learning projects.
- Experience preparing large-scale datasets of terabytes in size with attention to compute and memory efficiency.
- Experience productizing ML solutions as standalone applications or production services.
- Experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes, Azure, or Argo Workflows.
- Experience with 3D animation, 3D transformations, and linear algebra.
- Familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with C++.
- Preferred experience optimizing ML models for real-time, memory- and compute-constrained environments.
- Preferred experience applying ML in the game or entertainment domain.
- Preferred experience with imitation learning.
- Familiarity with 3D animation tools or game engines is a bonus.
Benefits
- The British Columbia base salary range is CAD 122,300–170,700 per year, depending on location.
