Responsibilities
- Build, enhance, and maintain Android application features across multiple Expedia Group brands.
- Design and implement clean, testable Kotlin code, APIs, and data models.
- Contribute to system and low-level design for mobile components, screen flows, navigation, error handling, and backend integrations.
- Diagnose and resolve Android application issues while improving performance, stability, and usability through data-driven analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver features end-to-end using code reviews, unit tests, UI/integration tests, and continuous integration practices.
- Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions in mobile features and development workflows.
- Contribute to monitoring, alerting, on-call participation, and iterative improvements based on incident learnings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Professional experience developing, shipping, and supporting production Android applications using Kotlin.
- Experience owning mobile application components or services, including API consumption, data modeling, and backend integration.
- Strong understanding of Android fundamentals including lifecycle, Compose layouts, navigation, networking, threading, and performance.
- Experience with code reviews, testing, version control, and AI-driven systems or workflows.
- Proficiency with modern Kotlin Android development and Jetpack Compose.
- Knowledge of MVVM, MVI, or similar Android architectures, module boundaries, API design, and scalable data models.
- Experience improving mobile performance, reliability, and observability using metrics, logging, and experimentation.
- Experience with mobile technical design, GraphQL API contracts, and low-level UI interaction design.
- Experience with operational excellence practices such as monitoring, alerting, on-call participation, and incident-based improvements.
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI-driven tools in development workflows or mobile product features and applying AI/ML concepts to mobile user experiences.
