Responsibilities
- Own the technical integration of inverters, batteries, charging infrastructure, and heat pumps into the Heartbeat energy management system.
- Implement communication protocols including Modbus TCP, OCPP, MQTT, and EEbus.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain Go services on IoT gateways and controller devices.
- Diagnose LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall, and device-discovery issues and build resilient edge services.
- Conduct energy management system testing in the Berlin lab.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the product lifecycle to meet performance and reliability standards.
- Provide expert-level support to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven IoT development and integration experience involving diverse OEM devices.
- Hands-on experience developing software modules for IoT devices.
- Experience with Go programming is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Modbus TCP, OCPP, and MQTT.
- Strong understanding of local networks, including TCP/IP and LAN/WLAN, plus experience with device discovery and scanning in home networks.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Very good spoken and written English; German is a plus.
- Bonus qualifications include production network or systems administration, Google Cloud integration with IoT solutions, international stakeholder support, and IoT or energy management certifications.
