Responsibilities
- Build and improve internal platform tooling, automation, and infrastructure used by development teams.
- Develop and maintain AWS infrastructure as code using AWS CDK.
- Extend CI/CD pipelines and support the migration from CircleCI to GitHub Actions.
- Support Lambda, ECS, and EKS runtimes and help migrate workloads to the Kubernetes-based platform.
- Operate and support Redshift, RDS, Kafka, Flink, and Redis/Valkey infrastructure.
- Help development teams diagnose and resolve infrastructure-related incidents.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability in Datadog.
- Document platform capabilities and support developer adoption.
Requirements
- Working understanding of AWS and core cloud infrastructure concepts including compute, networking, storage, and IAM.
- Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience with AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, or a similar tool.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container-based workloads.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and the software delivery lifecycle.
- Comfort with at least one programming or scripting language such as TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, Python, or Bash.
- Comfort using agent-based development tools; Sparta uses Claude Code.
- Willingness to participate in incident response and improve infrastructure systems.
- Clear communication, collaborative working style, and pragmatic problem-solving approach.
