Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture, implementation, maintenance, performance, quality, and responsiveness of core Android solutions.
- Own the full development lifecycle, including prototyping, implementation, testing, delivery, and ongoing maintenance.
- Define and promote secure, robust, scalable, and high-performance mobile development practices.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, UX designers, backend engineering, Support, and field teams on roadmaps, API design, and customer escalations.
- Lead design and brainstorming sessions, provide technical direction and code reviews, and mentor teammates across global sites.
- Monitor evolving mobile technologies, Android OS updates, and relevant open-source libraries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years dedicated to Android and at least 2 years in a technical leadership or lead role.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with deep knowledge of object-oriented programming and modern Android architecture and UI patterns.
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency, asynchronous programming, Espresso, JUnit, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, code signing, Google Play Store distribution, Maven, and Gradle.
- Knowledge of IAM concepts and technologies including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SCIM, token-based authentication, Active Directory, MFA, PKI, certificate security, encryption, and secure mobile data storage.
- Basic understanding or experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure, NoSQL databases, and local mobile data persistence.
- Preferred qualifications include Swift, Objective-C, XCTest, MDM/MAM policies, full-stack web development, Windows programming, kernel-mode development, GDPR, SOX, PII, PHI data handling, and Agile/Scrum experience.
