Responsibilities
- Define and execute quality engineering strategies, test plans, and validation approaches aligned with business and release goals.
- Lead functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing across distributed enterprise applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and reusable test assets, including adoption of BDD practices.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation and rapid feedback.
- Validate REST and SOAP APIs, system integrations, and SQL and NoSQL databases for contract compliance and data integrity.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and manage defects through resolution while conducting root cause analysis using logs, monitoring tools, and system diagnostics.
- Assess product quality, release readiness, risks, and gaps and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Test cloud-native and Kubernetes-based applications across retail store operating environments, including scalability, resiliency, and reliability validation.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, Program Management, vendors, and business stakeholders to resolve issues and improve quality.
- Mentor junior Quality Engineers and contribute to quality metrics, release reporting, Agile delivery practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of quality engineering experience supporting enterprise software applications.
- Strong experience with manual and automated testing, test planning, execution, defect management, and quality assurance practices.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language, such as JavaScript or Java, for test automation and software development.
- Experience with API, integration, and service validation testing involving REST and SOAP services.
- Strong database validation and data testing expertise with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience in Agile, Scrum, and DevOps environments, including automated test integration into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including defect triage, root cause analysis, performance investigation, and monitoring-based diagnosis.
- Experience supporting retail, fuel retail, hospitality, POS, or other enterprise transaction-based platforms, including payment processing, loyalty integrations, transaction flows, and store operations workflows.
- Experience testing cloud-native and Kubernetes-based applications, with knowledge of BDD, scalability, resiliency, reliability testing, and enterprise modernization initiatives.
