Responsibilities
- Translate scientific and business requirements into clear machine learning problem statements, success metrics, and delivery plans.
- Ingest, clean, analyze, and model signal, image, spectral, sensor, and IoT datasets.
- Build, train, validate, and iterate on robust machine learning models using modern frameworks.
- Deploy models to Azure and integrate them into production workflows through APIs and services.
- Design and maintain reproducible ML pipelines for training, evaluation, release, and monitoring.
- Implement CI/CD for ML services and pipelines and manage environments with infrastructure as code.
- Design and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines supporting inference, data access, and system integration.
- Monitor model quality, drift, latency, reliability, and cost; troubleshoot production issues and prevent regressions.
- Optimize data processing for scale, efficiency, maintainability, and resource usage.
- Apply relevant research to R&D work, reproduce methods, and adapt them to real-world constraints.
- Plan and conduct software experiments and collaborate with laboratory teams on hardware and sensor experiments.
- Stay current with ML and AI advances and recommend improvements to tools, processes, and project approaches.
- Follow established quality, safety, and organizational procedures and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data processing, statistical analysis, visualization, and machine learning, including pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, seaborn, and PyTorch.
- Demonstrated experience applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems across diverse domains.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, algorithms, data structures, and theoretical or mathematical computer science.
- Experience with data-intensive or ML-driven products and interest in IoT systems and sensor-based data workflows.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and scientific reasoning skills.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and iterative product development processes.
- Experience with Docker and Azure deployment patterns such as AKS, App Service, and Functions is preferred.
