Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Partner with Product and Engineering to improve event capture and ship production instrumentation.
- Build and maintain reliable pipelines from product canvas events through the warehouse to versioned, reproducible training datasets.
- Implement dataset contracts, lineage, provenance, fingerprinting, and reproducibility systems.
- Design privacy, consent, isolation, and data-boundary safeguards for enterprise data agreements.
- Create sanitized, governed datasets and collection mechanisms for ML research and explicit user feedback.
- Preserve ambiguity and context in behavioral data rather than treating unselected or abandoned actions as simple negative signals.
- Build quality checks, monitoring, and tooling to identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and unexpected changes.
- Collaborate with researchers and help establish standards for ML data quality, lineage, validation, and governance.
Requirements
- Experience building data infrastructure, ML data systems, or production data pipelines used by other teams.
- Strong software engineering skills and experience building reliable production systems.
- Experience designing data models and pipelines with reproducibility, observability, and lineage in mind.
- Comfort working with large or complex datasets and debugging issues across multiple parts of a data system.
- An experimental mindset and ability to turn ambiguous research questions into measurable datasets.
- Good judgment around data quality and the distinction between missing and negative signals.
- Comfort working in an environment with evolving systems and standards.
- Collaborative engineering approach, including documenting decisions, incorporating feedback, and working across Product, Engineering, and Research.
- Preferred: experience training models and understanding ML training data needs.
- Preferred: experience with preference data, labeling systems, human-feedback pipelines, or evaluation operations.
- Preferred: experience building data infrastructure under privacy, security, or contractual constraints.
- Preferred: experience with large-scale event or behavioral datasets and data systems supporting generative AI or multimodal models.
